The guardians of C. Union adopted a scale of fees for temporary medical officers under Arts. 22 and 23 of the Local Government Board Dispensary Regulations, 1899. During the illness of the medical officer of P. District, M. was engaged by the relieving officer to attend two urgent cases of poor and destitute persons at a fee of £2 2s. 0d. a case, and any similar urgent cases that should arise at the same fee.
