REGISTRATION OF TITLE ACT, 1964 (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1966

I, BRIAN LENIHAN, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 2 of the Registration of Title Act, 1964 (No. 16 of 1964), hereby order as follows: 1. This Order may be cited as the Registration of Title Act, 1964 (Commencement) Order, 1966. 2. The 1st day of January, 1967, is hereby appointed as the day on which the Registration of Title Act, 1964 , shall come into operation.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order brings the Registration of Title Act, 1964 , into operation on the 1st day of January, 1967. The Act consolidates and reforms the law relating to the registration of the title to land and provides for the gradual extension of compulsory registration to all land in the State.
