ROADS ACT 2007 (DECLARATION OF MOTORWAYS) ORDER 2008

Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 22nd July, 2008.

I, NOEL DEMPSEY, Minister for Transport, on the application of the National Roads Authority, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 8(1) of the Roads Act 2007 (No. 34 of 2007), and having complied with the requirements of subsection (2) of that section, hereby order as follows:

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Roads Act 2007 (Declaration of Motorways) Order 2008.

(2) This Order comes into operation on 24 September 2008.

2. The national roads or proposed road developments mentioned in the Schedule are declared as motorways.

SCHEDULE SECTIONS OF NATIONAL ROADS AND PROPOSED ROAD DEVELOPMENTS DECLARED AS MOTORWAYS

Reference in this Schedule to—

N followed by a number is a reference to a national road, and

R followed by a number is a reference to a regional road

N6 — Kinnegad to Kilbeggan

The section of the N6 between its junction with the N4 at Rossan in County Meath and its junction with the N52 at Kilbeggan South in County Westmeath, via the townlands of Kinnegad, Rattin, Farthingstown, Rathgarrett, Kilcloghan and Ardnaglew in County Westmeath.

N6 — Kilbeggan to Athlone

The section of the proposed N6 between its junction with the N52 at Kilbeggan South in County Westmeath and its junction with the existing N6 at Creggan Lower in County Westmeath, via the townlands of Kilgaroan and Kilbeg in County Westmeath, Ardnucher, Glebe, Russagh, Kilcurley, Moyally and Cloghnamina in County Offaly and Culleenagower, Cregganmacar, Seeoge and Creggan Upper in County Westmeath.

N7 — Castletown to Nenagh

The section of the proposed N7 from its junction with the R435 at Derrinsallagh in County Laois and its junction with the R445 at Ballintotty in the county of North Tipperary, via the townlands of Clonagooden and Curraghmore in County Laois, Ballykelly, Camlin, Glenbeha, Boola and Rathnaveoge Lower in the county of North Tipperary, Castleroan, Moneygall, and Clynoe in County Offaly and Park, Kilgorteen and Lissanisky in the county of North Tipperary.

N7 — Nenagh to Limerick

The section of the proposed N7 between its junction with the R445 at Ballintotty in the county of North Tipperary and its junction with the R503 at Carrowkeel in County Limerick, via the townlands of Knockalton Upper, Tullahedy, Carrigatogher, Gortmore...
