DUBLIN ELECTORAL COUNTIES ORDER, 1985.

The Minister for the Environment in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 14 , 16 and 25 of the Local Government (Reorganisation) Act, 1985 (No. 7 of 1985), hereby orders as follows:—

1. This Order may be cited as the Dublin Electoral Counties Order, 1985.

2. (1) The electoral County of Dublin-Belgard shall be divided into the county electoral areas named in the first column of Part I of the Schedule to this Order.

(2) The electoral County of Dublin-Fingal shall be divided into the county electoral areas named in the first column of Part II of the Schedule to this Order.

(3) The electoral County of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown shall be divided into the county electoral areas named in the first column of Part III of the Schedule to this Order.

(4) Each such county electoral area shall consist of the places set forth in the second column of the Schedule to this Order opposite the name of such county electoral area.

(5) The number of members of the Council of the relevant electoral County elected for each such county electoral area shall be the number set forth in the third column of the Schedule to this Order opposite the name of such county electoral area.

3. (1) The county electoral areas of Ballybrack, Blackrock and Dún Laoghaire shall be the relevant electoral areas for the purposes of section 16 of the Local Government (Reorganisation) Act, 1985 .

(2) The total number of members who, by virtue of section 16(4) of the said Act are to be members of, and act as the Council of the Borough of Dún Laoghaire shall be fourteen.

4. Five members of the Council of the Borough of Dún Laoghaire shall be a quorum for that council.

5. Every reference in the Schedule to this Order to:

(1) the County Borough shall be construed as a reference to the County Borough of Dublin as existing at the date of this Order;

(2) an electoral County shall be construed as a reference to such electoral County as described by the Local Government (Reorganisation) Act, 1985 ;

(3) a district electoral division shall be construed as a reference to such district electoral division as described in the Dublin County (District Electoral Divisions) Regulations, 1971 ( S.I. No. 17 of 1971 );

(4) a ward shall be construed as a reference to such ward as described in the County Borough of Dublin (Wards) Regulations, 1970 (S.I. number 269 of 1970).

6. (1) A reference in the Schedule to this Order to a line drawn along any road, avenue, lane, gardens, crescent, park, river, railway line or bridge shall be construed as a reference to an imaginary line drawn along the centre of such road, avenue, lane, gardens, crescent, park, river, railway line or bridge.

(2) A reference in the Schedule to this Order to the point at which any road, avenue, lane, gardens, crescent, park, river, railway line or bridge intersects or joins any other road, avenue, lane, gardens, crescent, park, river, railway line, bridge or imaginary projection shall be construed as a reference to the point at which an imaginary line drawn along the centre of one or, in the case of an imaginary projection, along the one, would be intersected or joined by an imaginary line drawn along the centre of the other, or in the case of an imaginary projection, along the other.

(3) A reference in the Schedule to this Order to the point at which any road, avenue, lane, gardens, crescent, park, river, railway line, bridge, or imaginary projection intersects or joins a boundary shall be construed as a reference to the point at which an imaginary line drawn along the centre of such road, avenue, lane, gardens, crescent, park, river, railway line, bridge or, in the case of an imaginary projection along the projection, would intersect or join such boundary.

(4) A reference in the Schedule to this Order to a line drawn along a road which consists of a dual carriageway shall be construed as an imaginary line drawn along the centre of the central median of such dual carriageway.

commencing at the intersection of the Kildare County boundary by the Dublin/Cork railway line, thence in an easterly direction along the said railway line to its intersection by Lynch's Lane, thence in a north-easterly direction along Lynch's Lane to its junction with the Lucan/Clondalkin Road, thence in an easterly direction along the Lucan/Clondalkin Road to its junction with the eastern boundary of the district electoral division;

the part of the district electoral division of Palmerstown Number One situated in the electoral County of Dublin-Belgard, and located south of a line drawn as follows:-

commencing at the junction of the western boundary of the district electoral division with the Lucan/Clondalkin Road, thence in an easterly direction along the Lucan/Clondalkin Road and an un-named road, north of number 49 St. Ronans Park to its junction with the Neilstown Spine Road, thence in a northerly direction along the Neilstown Spine Road to its intersection by the imaginary westerly projection of the rear boundary of the curtilage of number 42 Liscarne Gardens, thence in an easterly direction along the said imaginary projection and the said boundary and the rear boundary of houses on the southern side of Liscarne Gardens to its junction with the eastern boundary of the curtilage of number 88 Liscarne Gardens, thence in a northerly direction along the said boundary and continuing along an imaginary straight line drawn from the north-eastern corner of the curtilage of number 88 Liscarne Gardens to the south-eastern corner of the curtilage of number 51 Liscarne Gardens, thence continuing in a northerly direction along the eastern boundary of the curtilage of number 51 Liscarne Gardens to its junction with the southern boundary of the curtilage of St. Mary's Schools, Rowlagh, thence in an easterly direction along the last-mentioned boundary and its imaginary easterly projection to its intersection by an unnamed road south of Wheatfield Avenue, thence in a southerly direction along the said unnamed road to its intersection by the imaginary westerly projection of Wheatfield Crescent, thence in an easterly direction along the said imaginary projection and Wheatfield Crescent to its intersection by the imaginary westerly projection of the southern boundary of the curtilage of number 19 Wheatfield Crescent, thence continuing in an easterly direction along the said imaginary projection, and said boundary and its imaginary easterly projection to its intersection by the County Borough boundary.

that part of the district electoral division of Tallaght Number One situated within a line drawn as follows:

commencing at the junction of Oldbawn Road and the Old Tallaght Road, thence in an easterly direction along the Old Tallaght Road to its junction with Firhouse Lane, thence in a southerly direction along Firhouse Lane and along the footbridge over the River Dodder, north of Mount Carmel Park, to its intersection by the River Dodder, thence initially in a south-westerly direction along the River Dodder to its intersection by Oldbawn Road, thence in a northerly direction along Oldbawn Road to the starting point;

the part of the district electoral division of Tallaght Number Two situated east of a line drawn along the new Belgard Road; and

the part of the district electoral division of Tallaght Number Three situated within a line drawn as follows:

commencing at the southernmost junction of the Belgard Road with the boundary of the district electoral division, thence initially in an easterly direction along the said...
