Dublin weather: Met Eireann forecasts dramatic 13C temperature swing in weekend freeze

The mercury is set to go from 13 degrees during the daytime to as low as -3 degrees at night in a huge temperature swing. Although Met Eireann has forecasted rain, there will be dry periods too

A Status Yellow wind warning is in place for Clare and Galway until 5pm today. The alert reads: "Very strong and gusty southwest to west winds on Friday leading to some coastal flooding."

As for Dublin, today will be a windy day with southwest winds increasing from fresh to strong and gusty. This morning will be sunny with a few passing showers.

Showers will merge to longer spells of rain with heavy falls likely later in the afternoon. The highest temperatures will be around 11 or 12 degrees.

Tonight will see a mix of showers and clear spells. The lowest temperatures will be around 4 to 7 degrees with fresh westerly winds remaining strong near the coast.

Hazy spells of sunshine with the occasional showers are expected tomorrow with the highest temperatures of 12 or 13 degrees. There is no further forecast for Dublin but here's what the national outlook says:
