SOCIAL WELFARE (OVERLAPPING BENEFITS) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1962

I, CAOIMHGHÍN Ó BEOLÁIN, Minister for Social Welfare, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Sections 3 and 32 of the Social Welfare Act, 1952 (No. 11 of 1952), hereby make the following Regulations :—

1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Social Welfare (Overlapping Benefits) (Amendment) Regulations, 1962.

(2) These Regulations and the Social Welfare (Overlapping Benefits) Regulations, 1953 to 1961, may be cited collectively as the Social Welfare (Overlapping Benefits) Regulations, 1953 to 1962.

2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 3rd day of August, 1962.

3. In these Regulations " the Principal Regulations " means the Social Welfare (Overlapping Benefits) Regulations, 1953 ( S.I. No. 14 of 1953 ).

4. Sub-article (4) of article 4 of the Principal Regulations is hereby revoked.

5. Sub-article (5) of article 4 of the Principal Regulations as amended by the Social Welfare (Overlapping Benefits) (Amendment) Regulations, 1961 ( S.I. No. 160 of 1961 ) is hereby further amended by the substitution for the words " forty-four shillings and ninepence," "fifty-four shillings and ninepence," and " sixty-four shillings and ninepence " of the words " forty-seven shillings and threepence," " fifty-seven shillings and threepence " and " sixty-seven shillings and threepence " respectively.

6. Sub-article (5) of article 4 of the Principal Regulations is hereby further amended by the substitution with effect from the 7th day of January, 1963, for the words " forty-seven shillings and threepence," " fifty-seven shillings and threepence," " sixty-seven shillings and threepence " (inserted by article 5 of these Regulations) and " five shillings," of the words " forty-nine shillings and ninepence," " sixty-two shillings and ninepence," " seventy-five shillings and ninepence " and " eight shillings," respectively.
