THE LOCAL ELECTIONS (POSTPONEMENT) ORDER, 1933.

DEPARTMENT OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND PUBLIC HEALTH.

THE LOCAL ELECTIONS AND MEETINGS (POSTPONEMENT) ACT, 1931 .

WHEREAS, in pursuance of section 2 of the Local Elections and Meetings (Postponement) Act, 1931 (hereinafter referred to as " the Act "), the Minister for Local Government and Public Health (hereinafter referred to as " the Minister ") did by Order under his Official Seal bearing date the 30th day of August, 1933, appoint the 14th day of November, 1933, as the date for the holding of the elections of members of the local authorities therein referred to (not being the councils of county boroughs) which were postponed by section 2 of the Act :

AND WHEREAS it is expedient to revoke the said Order of the 30th day of August, 1933, and to appoint a new date for the holding of the said elections :

NOW, THEREFORE, the Minister in exercise of the powers vested in him by section 2 of the Act does hereby order as follows, that is to say :—

1. This Order may be cited as the Local Elections (Postponement) Order, 1933.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1923 , shall apply for the purposes of the interpretation of this Order in like manner as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of the Oireachtas.

3. The above recited Order of the Minister bearing date the 30th day of August, 1933, shall be and the same is hereby revoked.

4. (1) The date for the holding of every triennial election of members of a local authority (not being the council of a county borough) which was postponed by sub-section (1) of section 2 of the Act shall be the 15th day of July, 1934.

(2) The date for the holding of every election of members of a local authority (not being the council of a county borough) which was postponed by sub-section (2) or sub-section (3) of section 2 of the Act shall be the 15th day of July, 1934.

(3) Every election of the members of a local authority which is held in pursuance of this article shall be deemed to be a triennial election to...
